I'm a long time Ubuntu user and have been looking at archlinux - but one of the programs that I use (purchased) is securecrt. Vandyke does a great job of supporting Ubuntu - and a few others - but archlinux is not one of them. I have not done a lot of research on this but wanted to know if I have a DEB or tar of the program is there anyway to (try) install it on archlinux? And before someone responds back what wrong with XYZ alternative to SSH from the command line? And the answer is that securecrt allows you to create "button" bars where you can define all kinds of commands for all kind of difference technology. That feature alone was worth the $100 I paid for the software and putty or terminal SSH is a very poor substitute . I used securecrt for years at my last company - and love the software. The vendor is just great to work with and constantly improving their app. I'm just looking for breadcrumbs on how to even try this.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Nov. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software, a developer of multi-platform secure terminal emulation and secure file transfer software, today announced the official releases of SecureCRT 8.3 and SecureFX 8.3.
The 8.3 release provides customers with time-saving features that improve the look, feel, and performance of the user interface and make it faster and easier to connect to and manage sessions. SecureCRT introduces new built-in ANSI color schemes, including Solarized, so that customers can easily change the look of their terminal workspace. "The new color schemes are invaluable to my work environment," said Mark Dahlberg, a UNIX systems administrator at Recursoft.org . "The Solarized Dark color scheme has significantly reduced my eye strain and focuses my attention where it's needed."
SecureFX 8.3 improves synchronization performance when working with large numbers of files and folders, and scripting file transfers is easier with the ability to take actions based on exit codes that indicate why an operation failed.
A paste confirmation dialog in SecureCRT 8.3 displays the contents of the paste buffer, helping to prevent accidental pasting of multiple lines of text into a production or other critical server. Also new is line rewrapping of the text in the terminal area when the SecureCRT window is resized.
VanDyke Software's SecureCRT is a terminal client that helps IT professionals manage secure remote access and securely "tunnel" email, web, and corporate application data. SecureFX meets your evolving file transfer needs with a single application that lets you choose between SFTP, FTP over TLS, or SCP for secure transfers, or standard FTP for nonsecure transfers.
A fully-functional, 30-day trial of SecureCRT 8.3 and SecureFX 8.3 can be downloaded from the VanDyke Software website at www.vandyke.com. Evaluators have full access to VanDyke Software's expert technical support to assist with installation, configuration, and testing.
Busy IT professionals depend on VanDyke Software to deliver rock-solid, easy-to-configure software for secure remote access, secure file transfer, terminal emulation, and remote administration. VanDyke Software offers a fully-supported 30-day evaluation of its products prior to purchase, providing both evaluators and customers with a higher level of service. The company's product offerings include the SecureCRT Secure Shell terminal emulator, the SecureFX secure file transfer client, the VanDyke ClientPack, and the VShell Secure Shell server.
